Want to add value to your campaign run? Of course you do. Do you want voters to know that you can connect with them and with sufficient care to meet face to face? Well, you'd better. There is an easy way to do it all ... lace up your sneakers.
Be sure to plan a route in your neighborhoods surrounding you will see the most during a weekend or two.
Who Walk
The candidate must be the one to go around. It's the personal touch that you need to project. Unless there is something that physically prevents you walk, your face must submit to the door steps. This gives a face to a name. This shows that you're willing to put in the time of request approval (votes) among likely voters.
If you can not take to the streets, sending family members. These people are close to you and share a connection and a passion for what you are trying to accomplish by being elected. Make sure the representatives are well prepared and have a clear plan in his meeting with voters.
Do not show empty-handed
There are some things you will want to bring with you during your tour. You do not want to leave potential voters who have nothing to remember. your document should be a piece of information as a brochure, palm card or postcard. A good presentation is a clear plastic bag with a pamphlet literature and a useful "Goody" notebook, pen, magnet, buttons, etc.
Another good option is a door hanger. This piece includes a card and palm cards in a single point. If nobody answers at the door, leave this on their doorknob.
Leave with a sense of accomplishment
Your ending handshake should leave you feeling like you accomplished something by meeting with individual voters. This could mean you have added a location sign court. Or you have successfully responded to issues important issue voter. At a minimum, the household knows who you are and what you represent. The voter must be able to contact you if they have questions or if they want to learn more about you.
There would be nothing if you have left and they immediately forgot who they were talking with. Make your meeting date. Spend the time necessary for each person to make your mark.
